ABOUT HILLTOP SUITE
THE SUITE
Hilltop Suite provides two bedrooms: 1 king size bed on the ground floor, 1 queen size bed in the loft with a sky view through the skylight, and a queen sofa bed in the living area which is easy to fold away and quite comfortable.
The suite also includes a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a spacious shower and heated floors. Enjoy the private patio, separate parking and a private entrance. We feature some of our own favorite art collection pieces – mostly made by friends and local artists.
The technology we have embraced includes an 8 KW solar system, ductless heat pump heat and air conditioning, television with Apple TV, HBO Max and Netflix. Our first guests launched a South American startup company from Hilltop, so we know the Wi-Fi is excellent!
The creation of Hilltop Suite was a labor of love. Semi-attached to our 100+ year old farmhouse, it was once a collection of pantry, cold storage, and firewood storage rooms. We salvaged much of the old lumber from the original rooms – milling and refinishing for the window and door trim as well as the interior doors. They bear the marks of their history!
THE LOCAL AREA
Information provided in the suite includes a map of our property and the surrounding area with notes on which areas are available for exploration.
For guests who want to venture out, miles of hiking, cycling, and mountain biking are available right from the doorstep. Higher elevation hiking on Mary’s Peak is a short drive away.
Towns nearby include Corvallis, the home of Oregon State University, as well as Philomath, with the Benton County Historical Museum and
Society headquarters. Both towns offer some of the county’s finest dining and microbreweries. The area also boasts everal top-flight wineries, with lovely open air tasting rooms, which have a long history in the area.
For longer excursions, the Oregon coast is less than an hour away and the central Cascade Mountains just a bit further to the east.
